Integrated system design

Technology is a chain, not a single machine.

TRS combines specialist technologies, machines and process steps into an integrated plant concept for the residual fraction.

The complete system

Design around the waste hierarchy and the real feedstock.

The system starts with characterisation. It does not assume every tonne belongs in a furnace.

01

Waste characterisation

02

Realistic prevention, reuse and recycling interface

03

Biological treatment of suitable organic streams

04

Residual-waste preparation

05

Controlled thermal energy recovery

06

Flue-gas treatment and continuous monitoring

07

Bottom-ash conditioning

08

Ferrous and non-ferrous recovery

09

Fine metal recovery

10

Mineral upgrading and qualified applications

11

Minimal final disposal

Modern Waste-to-Energy is not emission-free.

Its role is controlled energy recovery from suitable non-recyclable residual waste, with Best Available Techniques, emissions control and transparent monitoring.

The back end of the plant

The furnace is not the end of the process.

Energy recovery converts the residual fraction. What leaves the grate is still material: bottom ash containing ferrous, non-ferrous, fine non-ferrous and a large mineral fraction. That line is designed, not improvised.

Metals line

Ash conditioning, screening into defined size classes, magnetic separation, eddy-current separation, dedicated fine non-ferrous stages, heavy-concentrate handling, upgrading to a saleable grade.

Mineral line

Sampling, treatment and ageing, technical performance testing, environmental qualification, and identification of a locally approved application before any reuse route is claimed.

Recovery rates, grades and reuse routes are plant-specific. They follow from representative sampling and testing on the actual material, not from a reference plant elsewhere.

TRS + Overdie interpretation — not a government statement

Our technical view

How we read this market.

Editorial interpretation by TRS BV and Overdie. It is deliberately separated from verified facts and sourced project data.

The cheapest moment to design bottom-ash recovery is before the EPC scope is fixed. Space, conveying interfaces, water and power provisions cost little on a drawing and a great deal after commissioning.
Fine fractions below roughly 4 mm are where recoverable non-ferrous metal is most often lost, because standard separation lines are not configured for that size class.
A mineral fraction only becomes a product when a local standard and a local buyer exist. Technical suitability and regulatory acceptance are two separate questions.
Tender documents decide outcomes. If recovery performance is not specified there, it will not be delivered later without renegotiation.

System integration meets resource-market intelligence.

International experience + strong local execution

European engineering discipline
Local knowledge
Local manufacturing where appropriate
Local construction
Local employment
Local operation
International resource markets where they add value

The objective is to combine international experience with strong local execution — not to treat one geography or supply base as inherently superior.
