Evidence governance

Methodology & Assumptions

Facts use traceable sources, industry benchmarks remain labelled, and modelled outputs are scenarios rather than guaranteed plant performance.

VERIFIED FACT
INDUSTRY BENCHMARK
INDICATIVE SCENARIO

Confirmed facts

A claim is verified only when traceable to a current primary or credible source. Country statistics retain their reporting year and are not silently treated as current-year measurements.

Project status

Statuses follow explicit source language and dated milestones. An old announcement never becomes a current project automatically. Unclear cases are marked STATUS UNDER VERIFICATION.

Bottom ash & metals

Mass-balance values are adjustable engineering assumptions. The approximately 2% non-ferrous default is a European industry benchmark, never a measured country or plant value.

Energy calculations

Net electricity is calculated as annual residual-waste throughput multiplied by an editable net MWh-per-tonne assumption. Heat and cooling are excluded unless separately modelled.

Carbon calculations

Avoided COâ‚‚ is not calculated without a visible methodology covering the landfill baseline, methane capture, electricity mix, transport and material substitution.

Update frequency

Market dossiers show a prominent last-verified date. Project entries should be rechecked against official or operator sources before investment or procurement reliance.

Source hierarchy

Use the strongest available evidence.
